Set Your Mind

Colossians 3:1-4
"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory."

Dead people do not care about what is going on around them, do they? They are insensitive to what is happening. They just lie there without any awareness of anything. Play dead sometime.

Paul says that we have died --- died to the earthly things such as worry, death, sadness, annoyance, anger, sickness, material wealth, social status, etc. And we are now alive to heavenly things, i.e. peace, joy, grace, light, mercy, purity, happiness, etc.

So what do I eagerly desire? To be like Jesus, to witness to people, and to love and bless people. My motives will determine if my daily life is being lived for Christ or for the world.
